On Saturday, July 6th, Wally Workman Gallery will open its first solo show with young Austin painter Patrick Puckett. Figurative work on canvas, Puckett’s paintings evoke warm and timeless Southern summers. His technique of working dark to light gives the paintings the feeling of bright sunlight and warm bodies, engaging the viewer in a moment full of sunshine and still summer air.
